An old LP made me nostalgic

and think about how it sounded to me
I discarded all things
superficial and sentimentality
All trash and tripe it went out the window
it wasn’t cool enough for me
and with this new found hipness
the door was closed on my old LP
And on TV there’d be an old film

total amazement at some cartoon
It was the cheapest way to be happy
to escape for a while
Unaware what was the fashion
these things made me smile

listening to what they’d say

But then I’d shy from stuff
